Twinrix Adult Injection helps your body develop immunity by forming antibodies that your body needs for protection against the hepatitis A virus. It is given by an injection into a muscle only by a doctor or nurse. In Prevention of Hepatitis B infection Hepatitis B is an infection of the liver caused by the Hepatitis B virus (HBV). It can spread from person to person through blood, semen or other body fluids. It can cause mild illness lasting a few weeks or can lead to a serious, lifelong illness. Twinrix Adult Injection is given to prevent hepatitis B infection. It is advisable to consult your doctor for complete information regarding vaccination schedules.

Twinrix Adult Injection is a combination of two medicines: Freeze-dried Live Attenuated Hepatitis A Vaccine and Hepatitis B Vaccine (r DNA) which prevent Hepatitis A and Hepatitis B. They help develop immunity by initiating a mild infection. This type of infection does not cause illness but stimulates the body's immune system to produce antibodies (proteins) to protect against any future infections.

Alcohol

Consult your Doctor: Please consult your doctor regarding the safety of consuming alcohol with Twinrix Adult Injection . Experts have not found evidence of alcohol impairing the effectiveness of the medicine.

Pregnancy

Breast feeding

Kidney

Twinrix Adult Injection is used to immunize adults 18 years of age and above who are at risk of both hepatitis A and hepatitis B infection. It consists of three doses, the first administered at the selected date, the second one month later, and the third six months after the first dose. The vaccine will not prevent infection caused by other agents such as hepatitis C and hepatitis E and other pathogens known to infect the liver.
