If you're asking whether PlatinumRx is safe, you're asking the right question, and we'd rather answer it now than after you've ordered.

Medicines are not an ordinary online purchase. You deserve to know exactly who is dispensing them, where they come from, and who has checked your order before it reaches you. So here is all of it in one place: our licence, our manufacturers, our quality checks, and the reason our prices are lower.

Is PlatinumRx a Legitimate Company?

Yes. PlatinumRx is run by Afforis Health Technologies Private Limited, a Bengaluru based company registered with the Registrar of Companies, Bangalore, and incorporated in September 2023.

Our company name, registered address, support email (care@platinumrx.in) and helpline are published openly, here, on the app stores, and in our RoC filings. You can check all of them yourself.

We currently deliver to over 19,000+ PIN codes across India, covering prescription medicines, OTC products, chronic care medication, supplements and personal care.

Are PlatinumRx Medicines Genuine?

  • Our manufacturers are names you already know. We source from Cipla, Sun Pharma, Dr. Reddy's, Abbott, Alkem, Dabur and Himalaya and many more. These are among the most heavily regulated pharmaceutical companies in India, and several of them export to regulated markets including the US and Europe.
  • Our medicines are made in certified facilities. We source from GMP-FDA certified facilities, which are held to strict standards on raw material testing, manufacturing conditions, storage and batch records.
  • We hold a pharmacy licence. We operate under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940, the same law that governs the chemist shop at the end of your street. We have a valid licence. Medicines are dispensed from licensed premises and shipped through our delivery partners.
  • A registered pharmacist checks your order. Dispensing happens under the supervision of registered pharmacists, against a valid prescription. In any pharmacy, that human checkpoint is the biggest safety feature there is. It is also why we will not process prescription medicines without a prescription.

What We Check Before Your Order Ships

  • Every order passes through a set of checks before it leaves us.
  • Sourcing only from licensed distributors and manufacturers, with documentation on every batch
  • Batch and expiry verification at the time of dispensing by the registered pharmacist.
  • Prescription validation by a registered pharmacist before the order is packed
  • Storage and handling conditions maintained through to dispatch
  • Tamper evident packing, with manufacturer details, batch number and expiry visible on the pack

Why Medicines Cost Less on PlatinumRx

  • Same medicine, different name. A branded generic has the same active ingredient, the same strength and the same form as the expensive brand.
  • You pay for the tablet, not the marketing. The premium price on a big brand comes largely from marketing spend and distribution margins.
  • The difference is real. Paracetamol 650 mg from a well known brand may cost around ₹33 a strip. The same molecule at the same strength from Cipla may cost around ₹13.
  • We find the options for you. Search for a medicine or upload your prescription, and we show equivalent options with the same composition, including alternatives from top brands. You choose.
  • We buy direct. Sourcing straight from manufacturers and distributors removes a few layers of margin.
  • One thing to check with your doctor. For a small number of medicines, including certain thyroid, blood thinning and epilepsy medication, doctors prefer patients stay on one specific brand.

Is the PlatinumRx App Safe to Use?

Yes. Our app is available only on the official Google Play Store and the Apple App Store. Both platforms review apps before listing them and require every developer to publish exactly what data they collect. You can read our data disclosure on the store listing before you install.

Three simple habits will keep you safe on any pharmacy app, including ours:

  • Install only from Google Play or the App Store. Do not download APK files from other websites.
  • Use a password you have not used on other apps.
  • Pay only through UPI or card inside the app. If anyone calls or messages you asking you to send money to a personal UPI ID or bank account, it is a fraud attempt, no matter which company name they use. We will never ask you to do this.

  3. Check the composition before confirming. Match the salt name and strength to your prescription.
  4. Inspect the pack on arrival: manufacturer name, batch number, expiry date, seal intact.
  5. Order a few days early for anything you take regularly.
  6. Keep the invoice until you have finished the course.
